    Junction stalling **now fixed**

i'am having a few problems with my car stalling when u stop at a juctions ect i have read the other posts about stalling but was wondering if anyone has had this particular prob...

When the engine is cold it runs fine but as soon as its up to temp the engine stalls at a junction and the engine managment light comes on for a spilt second first then the all the other warning lights come on and the car stalls.. when u re-start the car runs rough for a few secs.. and then is fine. afterwards it will do it all the way home.. or its fine and wont for a couple of days !!!

also every now and again the emmisons warning light will come on for about ten mins when driving.. but if you leave the car to idle on the drive it will go off... any1 got any ideas?? its starting to bug me now, dont wana take it to vauxhalls just yet incase its just somthing easy to fix and also they ripped me off on my last service !!

(W.reg astra g ) 45000 miles. fully serviced - next service due in 5000 miles time.

    Thanks in advance.

Best thing to do is to read the ECU code, its simple using the paperclip trick (http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_...ault_codes.htm) you should find your connector under the panel between the handbrake and the gearstick. Alternatively you could pay someone between £30-50 to do it for you.

I suspect its you're EGR valve.

don't think you can do this with the MK4 i know it was possible with the MK3 but don't think it is quite that simple with the MK4's

BTW my car used to try and stall it would drop to 500RPM shake a bit then the ICV would cut in and bring it back up again then the revs would drop again

i got the TB's cleaned at is sorted the problem although my car never stalled it just tried to.

are you going to Westerham this sunday for the meet?
it is a easy job to do first up clean the throttle body with carb cleaner mate its nuder the engine cover you will need a torx bit to get the cover off and a screw driver for the pipe from the airbox to the throttle body
