Unhappy Electronically controlled engine cooling light

Bit peeved - this light keeps flashing on and off - mainly when I have my foot off the gas and just coasting. If I give it a bootful, the light goes off

Checked coolant level and all OK - any ideas on what this could be?

    is the fan kicking in??

you can normally hear the fan cutting in

could be a blow fuse for the fan or a faulty fan

It could be a lot of things, but without putting a Tech 2 on it I would just do some cursory checks, particularly around the front, under the wheel arch where the wire loom comes into the cooling control unit.

Have you done your intercooler yet? The crossmember comes close to the wire loom and is easily pinched if you put the crossmember back in a hurry
