I got two owners manuals, my original one from my '99 SRi and one form a 52 plate LS Astra

From my original handbook it says

    X 16 XEL 195/60/15
    (F) 31.9 (R) 27.6 3-person
    (F) 34.8 (R) 40.6 Full Load

Yet for the newer book with the Z 16 XE it says (acurate enough)

    Z 16 XE 195/60/15
    (F) 32 (R) 28 3-person
    (F) 35 (R) 41 Full Load

    Z 20 LET 215/40/17

    Hatch
    (F) 38 (R) 35 3-person
    (F) 39 (R) 45 Full Load

    Coupe/Convertible
    (F) 36 (R) 33 3-person
    (F) 39 (R) 45 Full Load

    Hi,

I just bought second hand Y reg Astra, 1.7 Dti, it has 195/55 R 15 tyres on them. I checked manual and it only has recommended pressure for this engine for 185/65 R 15 and 195/60 R 15 size tyres. Does it mean my car has incorrect tyres fitted? And also, what would be recommended tyre pressure for 195/55 R 15 tyres? Currently it is on 31 PSI... I do not see any problems, just wondering, car drives well and handles ok as well.

    Any suggestions comments are welcome!

run whatever the manual states - irrespective of what tyres you're running.

the weight of the car is still the same and its this which affects what presssures u run

    Thanks GeordieBandit,

Also I noticed that speed symbol is different as well, some tyres have H and some have V symbol, will that have any negative impact on tyre wear or anything else?
