    MK3 question

I've just fitted some mk4 16" alloys with 205/50 tyres (they rub a tiny bit on the mud guard when reversing, but i'm not too worried about that)

I want to lower the car next, but i can only find kits that offer 35 or 40 drops. I was thinking about not dropping it this much (because of the tyres) but i still want firmer suspension.

Do you think i should just get lower profile tyres and drop it 35/40 or does anyone know of a kit (not coilovers - too expensive!) that will drop 20 ish.

    Cheers
PS Not a 56k warning coz i cant upload the picture i wanted too, but can't change it now!

Yeah I am in the same predicament, I would be interested in a kit say -25mm or so aswell for my gsi, just fitted 17s looks wierd at the moment but I dont want to go too low.
Have done a search but can only find -30mm is this the lowest?

kev, if's yours isn't a gsi just fit gsi springs,

ineson you will have to go custom made or find some irmscher springs.

Kev looking to do this in a couple of weeks so if I go ahead I will have my gsi suspension available if you are interested.

I am not definately doing it yet but if I do I will be changing the shocks aswell. Not sure on fitment should fit but will have to check.
The ride is fine/ handling is good but hoping to improve it when/if I upgrade.

Do you not fancy going with the -35mm G-Max kit as it will be a bigger improvement over the gsi set up again. If you are interested in either my gsi set up or the G-Max kit, PM me.

Any luck uploading the above pic. Try imageshack

Ben: no, not inner arch, just the mud guard where it is bolted to the arch, nothing that can't be sorted by either getting the right sixe tyres, or cuttin off the mud guard.

Looked at the G-Max kit before, thats the sort of thing i'd be looking at if i cant find something else, but i dont know when i'll be doing it.

I phoned R-Tec in St Albans a while ago, they quoted me £340 for a Pi setup fully fitted. They said the fitting would be £90+VAT so i guess the springs+shocks must be about £230ish.

    Is that a good price?

Not liking pi springs since me and my bro both had one snap!

I would go for some eibach springs and save up for coilovers as the ride is far superior to spax or koni's.
