Exclamation Rear Disc Brake - Recall? (quick info needed)

As some of you are no doubt aware, VX has changed the design of the rear brake calipurs on the MK4 Astra. I believe this was due to a problem with binding.

I need to know the exact nature of the change/upgrade/replacement. Was it a "recall", an "upgrade" or just something that would be done when VX had the car if it came in for service, or if they were trading it as a network-Q car? Under what terms was the change carried out. PLEASE ONLY POST IF YOU KNOW FOR SURE!

It's important to me that I find out ASAP as VX have my car atm, fixing a mistake with the braking system that they made last time they had the car. (I'm not discussing the nature of the problems at the min, as it's still not all been sorted out.) I need to know the details so I know what I'm talking about when I discuss the replacement of my rear calipurs with them.

    Cheers in advance.

It's not a recall because it doesn't lock your rear brakes. It's just a fix where it adds a brake damper on it so it doesn't hold the pads more than it should. It makes a humming noise if you just move at crawling speed.

With the dampers fitted, it won't hum. Check the rear calipers and also have a look at my how to replace the rear brake pads tech guide (HERE) and have a look at the pic of the rear brakes. If it looks like that, then the fix has been done.
