    Advice please

Need some advice, my dad was driving my car yesterday, and he drove the car into a pothole. It was a manhole, which is like a 1 1/2 inch into the ground. So there is a jump in the road, if that makes sense. He couldnt miss it as there was another car in the other lane. Resulting the whole car to vibrate.. as he stated. So i looked at the rim 18" and it seems to have buckled Am i entitled to write to the council and be fair in asking for them to repair/buy me a new rim? Just wondering on what to do.. Any advice would be appreciated thank you.

take photos of the pothole and damaged caused to the rim, contact local council or roads authority (whoever is responsible for roads) and state your case. My dad claimed of the roads service for a new tire and rim no problem, just make sure you have the evedence. sooner you contact them the better

Yeah worked for me two I managed to get two wheels and two new tyres and tracking. Contact them they will send out a form for you to fill in, but get down there and get the photos before they fill it up. I took three months also as it was passed down through companies i.e. the council passes the buck to the owner of the hole. Also took three months, by which time I couldn't buy the same colour wheels. Ended up going back to steelies and flogging the two good wheels on ebay.
