    Switching sub on

When i turn on my headunit, the sub plays a bass note. I kinda "pops". Its really quite loud, and does not make any diffrence if i turn down the bass volume on the headunit (I can turn down the volume to just the sub).

Is this doing any damage to the sub do u think??

    Any ideas??

    tia
