i think if i go into it id have to take pics to show u but i'll try ... i have a carlton motor i think not a veccy one as there black casing, on the motor i have 3 wires brown/blue/red and on the gearing of the motor i have a brown assuming earth ? i was assuming i could just find the lives and earths and jobs a goodun but when ive removed the int light i have found 3 switch in the head lining one of which is the same as the one on the motor i have gren rectangular with 6 pins in but only 3 i think taken up, another ive no idea its a small squre blk one but none of these appear live.

Ive tested the motor on the battery and managed to get it to turn but i bypassed the switch so im now at the stage of trying to get it to work with the switch , told you it needed pics !

    HOW TO

    MK4 ELECTRIC SUNROOF UPGRADE
    Tools needed:-
Torques set, ideally T20 and T25 (it could be either as it may vary from car to car)
    8mm Socket
    Flat Headed Screw Driver
    Philips Screw Driver
Parts needed: - (Based on a Vectra although Zafira components look similar)
Motor inc. all screw fixings and bolt
    Plastic Surround With Switch
Thread Carrier, see below for how to locate this
    30A Fuse
Thread carrier. This is needed for your motor to screw into. Open your sunroof and look under the wind deflector just above your winder and you will see a flat black piece of plastic, this is the thread carrier. To release it take out the screws to your manual mechanism as they are what clamps it into position. Now it will just lift out but don’t do this straight away as your roof needs to be closed, and you need to recover a thread carrier from an electric sunroof. Obviously you can’t open an electric sunroof on a car in the scrap yard so you will need to bend the frame work down from inside the car to retrieve this.
    Method: -
    1. First prepare your car for the upgrade keeping the sunroof in closed position. Using a flat headed screw driver take out the interior light and take out the two screws holding the surround to the roof. Now you need to take off the manual winder handle so place a screw driver behind the section with the release button and lever down to click it out of position to reveal a screw that holds the winder in position. Undo the screw and pull the winder off. Pull back the trim that runs around the interior of the sunroof hatch in the location of the surround and then pull down on the surround to unclip it from the ceiling. Now you will see the manual winder mechanism (oval shape, silver, held up by two screws) undo these screws and pull at the mechanism to release it. Now pull the electric wiring across to the area you have been working, you will normally find it taped up in the headlining just above the passenger sun visor.
    2. Next you need to access the fuse box and stick a 30A fuse in fuse slot #30. Now connect your motor and switch to the wiring to make sure the motor is set to the shut position before it is installed. To do this press and hold the switch button with the opening symbol and the motor will wind and stop, press it again and hold and it should turn in the same direction for a short time (motor now at fully opened position). Now press and hold the tilt button and the motor should turn a little longer than the first time you activated the switch. The motor is now in ‘closed’ position turn off the ignition as to not accidentally bump the motor out of position.
    3. Now to start fitting everything in place. Lift and push your motor into position and secure it using the 8mm bolt at the back of the motor. You will notice that the threads aren’t there for the torque screws so using your switch open the sunroof and lift out your old thread carrier and replace with the new one. Now screw the torque screws into position and the motor is secured. Next test the function of sunroof and if happy start putting everything back together as your finished! The sunroof will also close with the total closure function at your door lock.
    Cheers Rich.
