    Sportex Vs Peco Vs Piper

Hey any ideas for a back box for a mk4 astra 1.6 8v most back boxes say they're only suitable for 16v models but i think the fitments the same also on a tight budget. I was looking at piper ! Any one got any ideas ?

    Hi Cueball,

I have a MK4 1.6 8 valve and i have a Stainless Peco Powermaster twin on mine and its a very good fit, very well wade and sounds great! I have friends that have sold Scorpion and Janspeed to get the Peco twins. Peco aint what they used to be and there is no rasp at all, just a very deep, sporty sound. That would be my thoughts anyway. Dont think you'd be dissaponted!

Cheers guys. yeah i have looked into sportex but im not to sure, ive heard mixed reviews about it but it is cheap ive found a place that does what i want for 119 GBP what sort of sound do they make, has anyone got one? im after a sporty sound on acceleration rather than a real low rumble that melts your ears.

Any 16v box will fit the 8v. My housemate has a 16v box on the back of his '02 8v LS. It's just a standard box.

    Thumbs Up

Yeah cheers for that. I thought that was the case but just needed confirmation. But this doesn't bring me any closer to the best back box for my situation is, any more help or thoughts welcome.
