    Timing belt every 40,000 miles for a 14.16v

    Ive heard that my car need a timing belt every 40,000 miles! and its sittin at 39 odd jst now, ive got a cruise to be goin to the night, how much do u think you can go over 40,000?

    Sooner the better but mine was 42000 before mine got done.

    aye, jst foned my cuz, he said it should b alright to go over its jst a standard recomendation

    It use to be 6years/60k! But Vauxhall decided to change it for some
    unknown reason! You should be fine mate (*Touch wood!*).

    my cambelt was changed at 49K mile but the rollers were only changed today (previous garage only did half the job) so effectivly my car did 57K miles before the cambelt was changed as you are supposed to change the rollers at the smae time

    but i wouldn't leave it that loong if i were you when is its next service due??

    I'd look at getting it chanced before then, mate - as said above "sooner the better"

    If u get it changed make sure it isnt the dealership munkey that does it!

    After 20,000 one of my spark plug nodes broke off due to over fuelling (lots of black carbon on 3 of the 4plugs) and fell into the engine, and destroyed the head and 3 pistons.. nice touch!
