    Will 17's go straight on a mk3?

I wanted some vaux OE 16's (see here)...but finding some is prooving difficult.

Will 17's go on with a 40mm drop without arch mods? What size tyre should i use?

(sorry if this is a repost, i did search but couldn't find anything)

    Cheers

I had rubbing with 17's on my MK3 gsi but then I was running 215 tyres, maybe with 205 they would have been fine

Only put them on to see what it looked like
