What about right clicking on the tool bar? Is there an option to exit or similar?

Do a Google search - it's a common problem, but it looks like the removal of it is a bit involved

download microsoft anti spyware, free from www.microsoft.com/download

I have it running with AVG free (antivirus) and never had a problem since installing them.

I'd also use Ad-Aware Se as well as Microsofts anti-spyware programme, as Ad-Aware still picks up stuff Microsoft has missed.
