    Trolley Jacks

Does anyone use em?? I got one on friday from Argos...only one for 20squid...cos i wont use it that often..only wanted it so i could paint my caliper...2 at the same time. Anyways...went to get it done this sarvo...only to become stuck when the jack wouldnt even lift me motor off the floor!!!!!!! It says the maximum height is 316mm....the wheels hadnt even lifted!

Went took it back to Argos, explained wot had happened...was bemused by the response that i got....."do you need a replacement one then?" err no i dont want a replacement, didnt you hear the reason why i am returning this one!!!! "ok, would you like a refund then??" er yes please!!!! I mean no 5hit sherlock!!!!

Anyway...i went down to halfarts and they had one in there that lifted to a maximum of 380mm, does anyone know if this will give sufficient height to lift the wheels of the ground?? I have the standard 16"s on!

    cheers.

It all depends where you place it under the car - mine lifts the same height as above and I've never had a problem with it.

Totaly agree, can`t get a jack under mine, time for the `air bag' suspension to be put in.

I have to get my brother and dad to 'lift' the car slightly, just to give me enough clearance to slide the jack under the car.
Same episode when I need to remove it too.

I got a heavy duty jack from Makro. Did the job fine until I lost it.
