My BK 299 Alloys - Gutted

Come home from work today, wicked day so start washing the car. Just noticed though that the finish / paint has come off the alloy in various places on one of the wheels! Not scraped or anything just come off in random spots...

Tried ringing the place I got the wheels from but closed. Just hope they'll sort it out though, should still be under guarantee as i've only had them 11 months

It is to be expected mate common fault I have had 2 sets replaced under warranty and the third set go after the warranty ended. the laquer dosnt stay on the polished lip once refurbed most companys wont re apply the laquer but a single pack type laqer should stick imo

Yeah mate, i had a friend that had some BK rims with the polished lip and they are prone to coroding and the lacer coming off.

Also where i got my wheels from they said that they are always changing them under warranty as they are quite bad for this. Make sure you take them back and get some new ones.

I had the same problem at christmas with my BK240`S in chrome. The chrome had started to flake on one of the front wheels. Been on the car for only 2 months though. Had them replaced under guarantee within a week of phoning the company.

I clean them almost every night now when I get home.

You should be ok as long as you`ve still got all the paperwork.

    Good Luck.

Still got all the paperwork so i'll have to ring them after the holidays. I normally wash the car once a week so i don't think it could have been down to salt and grit.

old batches of BK wheels were very prone to flaking early in life (within half a year) and under warranty was offered replacements. BK new batches are better quality and don't 'flake' but are still prone to weather damage/corroding and once they do, you'll be cheaper getting new wheels as the polished rim needs totally re-done once corroded.

Is this just happening on the chrome designs or does it happen to all bk wheels?
