    People with 19s or 18s

Was going to sell my car cos doing big miles but have decided to keep it. Think the plan is to upgrade my 17s. Can anyone with 19s tell me any issues they had? any mods needed?

my car is an mk 4 astra, if people have photos or any advice please email me on s_fit100@hotmail.com.

    cheers

3 drs are tighter than 5drs. 5drs are tighter than coupes, saloons and estates.

The 3DR has the smallest amount of room for larger wheels, however 18's are never a problem as lon g as you get the correct width, offset and tyres.

19's to fir a 3dr with no mods...

It can be done all though in my opinon wont look right OR will be a terrible ride. 7x 19's ET 42-49 with a say a 30mm drop will most likely fit with no real issues unless you have 5 people in the car. However the wheel will sit right inside the arches and the car will look like a roller skate (IMO of course)

    The best fitment will be 7.5 x 19's ET 40-45 with 215/35/19's

This will fill the arch quite well but will require the arches to be rolled all round and some slight grinding of the bumper bracket - in some cases like mine we moved the bracket further down the arch so that it didnt catch. With these mods done you can safely drop the car a good 60mm, and therefore filling the arches nicely and the car sitting nice around the large wheels.

Other things that will come into the equation will be shocks, if the shocks are standard then there will be a lot more travel and therefor a lot more catching. If they are uprated it will make it better. However fitting coilovers that are very still can eliminate the travel and the rubbing but you will lose a lot of comfort in its place.
