    CDR500 Help

    I just brought a astra sport (99) for my first car, it contains the cdr500 cd player. is there any way i can connect my ipod to it, does it have any aux ports or do i need a new headunit?

    Or get an FM modulator, and plug that into the ipod. U plug it in where the headphones go (or similar) and it converts the sound to FM, like a mini radio station broadcast inside ur car. Then u tune the headunit in to pick up whatever frequency the FM modulator is set to broadcast at. This works with all headunits that can recieve FM radio.

    (btw, razor is correct that you cannot wire the ipod to the CDR500 - so new HU or FM modulator is the only way)

    but if you go down the route of using a FM modulator the sound quality wont be as good and you may get bad reception sometimes

    /\ that's true, but FM modulator is also the cheapest solution. However, if you can afford it, it is best to get a new HU with a line-in.
