Power Steering Issues with New Astras

Wor lass has just got a new 1.7CDTI, 54 reg, and the other day she was trying to park her car and the power steering just packed in and went on holiday. She's had to send the car back to VX to get it sorted out and they've given her a nasty little corsa sxi for the meanwhile.

Has anyone else noticed any patterns with them or just had this problem?

I don't like them. I think it's a big, heavy, characterless and boring car.

They were onto a good thing with the MK4 type, but they've ruined them now.

I'm not talking about the engine, but I would add that for a 1.7 Turbo Diesel, they simply don't touch the old Cav 1.7 TD. We got one of those new and it was like feaces off a stick, with over 200k on it's clock, it's still faster and better economy.
