    abs or fibre glass?

    Hi All,

Wasn't sure if this should be in technical, but i'm sure someone will put me right on it!

Which is better material for an off the shelf bodykit, ABS or fibre glass?

Don't want it to crack after i've paid a few hundred quid out do I.

    Cheers

ABS plastic is much more forgiving, so much so that it's used on standard cars, by manufacturers.

Fibreglass is created with resin, which sets hard, so is more prone to cracking.

Reiger do ABS, cheap copies do fibreglass.

Fibre glass is easier to repair than plastic,as once plastic is damged the strength has gone.
But some company do make quality fibre glass kits though like lumma.
But I prefer the quality of plastic items.

Plastic is stronger but as above harder to repair if broken.

My Astra had a plastic front lip with fibreglass everything else, so it depends on what kit you want really
