Pics wanted of Tweeters and their mountings in Astra G Mirror covers

    Hi,

I just got some spare Manual mirror covers to add the tweeters form JBL GT 6.0c MkII Components. Using their mounting kit give it a factory look and once you have popped the old grill out and fitted the mountings it looks superb.

Just wondering what other people have done for mounting Tweeters. The only prob I have found with the JBL's is that the the tweeter cover is not the best and hardly protects it.

Pics would help me to decide if I want to change them or not.

    Cheers

    Mark

itd be silly changing your tweeters to a different brand just for a better grille if your keeping your JBL midbass speakers, they would not be best suited to each other. Ive mounted my T25 tweeters in the existing holes aswell, looks real nice. Heres a pic of the T25 grille if you fancy a lookie

Any info on V6 MK4 conversions greatly appreciated!

I've got the DLS UR1 tweeters as part of the UR6S package (about £600 if you can find it). They just fit in the standard location. Mids also fit in standard location with cutting.

If you are using smaller tweeters, just fit them behind the standard grille - I did this for my MBQuart components, but the DLS ones are too big.

Oh - I have a set of MBQuart tweeters going that will behind the standard grille. . Let me know if you are interested.

If I was going to change them I would go for the more uprated JBL's, I will get soem pics of the tweeters mounted to let you see what I mean....

    Just wondered how others looked.....

Do the standard mids and tweetes in the Astra G have an in-line cross over in the witing... Not had a chance to get the door panels off to have a look.

    Cheers

No crossovers as standard - you will have to wiring into the standard loom extra wiring. There are empty slots - go to a breakers and get some extra wiring to fit these. SHould be obvious what you have to do.

Ahhh forgot the back of the original tweeter has the crossover componets. The wiring from the JBLs have in-line cross overs so will just run them up to the tweeters. and retain the original wiring if and when I put it back to original spec.

Just need to get the things fitted now and I am there.... i have trail fitted the tweeter already to spare mirrior trim covers by removing the old tweeter and takign out the grill trim.

Any other pics of peoples Tweeter installs...?
