    de-locking hard?

I have the de-locked handles (think i got them of a vectra) and I have just had them smothed and sprayed so now i guess it is up to me to fit them. How hard is this to do keeping in mind I have a Clifford alarm?

If anyone has a how to it would be much appreciated (I'm sure I remember one on here a couple of years ago).

    Cheers

is yours a phase 1 or 2 astra?

if its a phase 2 they are a stright swap.
phase one you need the phase 2 backing plates or redrill your phase one ones.

Honest to go mate i wouldn't know what phase it was. It's M reg 1.8 16v mk3 sport if that's any help to you. Think the engine code is X18XE (or X18XL)

Does your Mk3 have a V grill on the front as standard - if so, then it is will be phase 2.

if your mirrors are rounded, and you have a boot panel and the your door handels are the same as a vectra its a phase 2.

    i think 1994 on is phase 2.

That's great, I think I am then...I have a V grill (can't remember what the mirrors were) and I have a boot panel and I hope they are the same as a Vectra as this is where the de-locked handles are from!

So a simple swap, no backing plate thingy needed?

Just one more thing, as it's phase 2 does that mean it's engine is C18XE and not X18XE (this relates to another question i have)?

    It's done
Looks really good. As my car has never seen a garage the paint is pretty faded but the handles don't stand out too bad. Gonna give the car a good clean and polish tomorrow (weather allowing) and I think they should blend in with the car well.
