it replaces the psu for the pc. basiclly removes the need for an invertor and boots up and shuts down the pc, aswel as monitoring your battery voltage.

lol.. that power supply would stuggle on a pc that spec.. it may work but wouldnt last too long.

take a look on www.mp3car.com plenty of info there.

inverters work well but dont bother with onboard sound if you go that route as you'll get noise all day long.. stick in a pci card and thats that 1 solved.

think about maybe knocking up a seperate 12v regulator for the drives.. switched on by a relay.
You could hapily take the 12v feed for all drives like that just using the 5 v feed of the powersupply saving you a little power... usb can be rigged up in a similar way.. or you could even rig up a 5v regulated feed in the same way but obviously lowering the voltage whilst you are there.

    cant think of much else

Mr Diesel - Carputer - In car PC.......................think about it !
    For a number of things....

Music Player, Games Player, Navigation Device, Internet....all on the move, mobile etc.
....and just about anything you want, that a PC can do.

    Use your imagination !
Normally use a smaller 6-7 inch touchscreen...or go mad like Skuzzle who has bought a 15" touchscreen.

We're going off topic...but no units are available that use DVDs as mp3 discs.
You could however use a carputer for such a thing.

...and not really that expensive..compared to the functionality your getting.
