    Fitting Amp now with pics

    Hi guys...
Fitting a bass amp and sub this weekend.
The wiring side of things is easy enough but after looking at the interior today I'm not sure how I can run the cable to the boot so that it isn't seen?..
I cant see how the side panels clip off that run under the door cards?...

Also I'm not sure how to get the power cable from the battery through to the dash? Is there a grommet or a hole i can make use of?...

    Assistance appreciated

You need to remove the panels that cover the bottom sides of the floor, if ya get me.
The cable then runs under them, make sure you keep the power cable away from rca cables etc.
You could either look for a grommet to put the wire through, or drill a new hole and put the wire through there, making sure that the hole is sealed to stop any chance of the wire rubbing through.
My mk3,117K, and the engine is still going strong
shame about the car shell tho, lol.

Depending on what model you have will depend on if you have a spare grommet or not. If you have drive by wire throttle there is a spare grommet on the drivers side that can be accessed when you remove the small pocket covering the fuse board.

As for running wires front to back because the side panels go under the seat your best bet is to remove the rubber seals and slide your cables down the side carefully remembering its best to keep your RCA and power cables seperate

ah... cheers. been lookin on astra-sri and aparantly there may be one above the pedals. Think I will be running both the power and the RCA's down the passenger side. I had it like this in my old car and it seemed fine. Someone told me wrapping tin foil around the wires helps alot. I'm only running a bass amp to the back and not paticularly power ful so I think i should get away with it. Touch wood....

looks good, i ran the power down the passenger side, drilled a hole behind the glovebox and ran it along the sills and ran the rca and remote power lead together down the centre console, under the seat and then down the right hand side into the boot.

end result is the same though - all the wires are hidden and it looks good!
