Help, my head unit no longer works.

Replaced my center console yesterday, have just gone out to the car to put the cage and stereo back in, connected it all up, turned it on and nothing. Nothing at all happens now. Disconnected all the rca`s, remote lead and aerial, leaving just the iso block connected and still nothing. It wont power up no matter what.

Checked the fuse in the back of the head unit but that is still ok. I must admit, I didn`t disconnect the battery yesterday when replacing the console.

Anyone got any ideas on what could be the problem.

I may have to pop round to sextons to see if they can try another headunit for me and another iso block loom. So I may have to buy another headunit this afternoon is this is the case.

What an expensive bloody weekend this could be. Still it has been over a year now since I bought my current headunit. LOL.

Forgot to say, the head unit was working fine yesterday before I took it out.

Fuse blown in the cars fuse box (not headunit), but head unit still isn`t working. Took it into work this morning and put 12V through it and it came on.

Took the car round to vauxhall, they put it straight onto their tech 2 machine and no fault was found. The guy had a look himself and done some tests but still couldn`t find anything wrong.

Off to buy a nice new head unit now, may be gone some time.

    What a day already.

Nightmare afternoon. Chose my new headunit, great price, all is well.

Thought I`d try my old headunit again, and it worked straight away.............

Took it back to work, put the mulimeter on it and everything was reading ok.

So, I`ve just spent nearly £300 on a new headunit and didn`t really need to. But I`ve had the old one now for over a year so it was time to change it anyway.

The old HU might be sold to a mate of mine, he will be letting me know on Monday. It`s a Pioneer DEH-6400R.

Cannot remember the model number for the new one, but it`s a JVC, motorised display, silver all round, DAB, bla bla bla, oh and it comes with software to enable you to upload your own pics and mini avi files to it.

    Matches the new centre console.

    Will post pics soon.
