    Finally Building Sub Boxes

My dad has finally agreed to helping me build my sub boxes and amp box this weekend. He has now asked which wood to use as MDF will be very heavy but i know thats the wood you need to use, or is there anything else i could use that wouldnt lose me the quality of the base?

not really the material needs to be fairly dense!!

so you can only really use hard heavy material i'm sure oak or mahogany will work but they are both heavy and expensive so MDF is your best bet

i always use the 18mm thick stuff!!

Years ago, people used to use marine ply a lot, its a much better quality wood than MDF and not harmful when cutting.

Not as easy to shape tho.

Yeah!! My dad suggested that. The only thing with that stuff is most places dont stock it so you have to order it in. Think its going to be the marine ply now!
