    Calling ALL Exhaust Pro's

I'm looking to replace my existing exhaust with a twin oval.
    Astra mk4 1.8i 16v SXi 2001 Z18XE

I'm not looking for a system that will sound NOT OTT but something
that purs around 2-3k... then roars when my foot hits the gas.

Currently got my eye on the Janspeed Stainless Twin Oval 101mm x
70mm CAT Back System for around the £280 mark with 'lifetime guarantee'
    from roadrunnermotorsport.co.uk

Performance CAT Back Exhaust Systems. Specifically designed to
increase a vehicles performance and sound through increased exhaust
gas flow. Manufactured using nothing but the highest grade (304)
stainless steel. All bends are formed to minimise loss of wall thickness
    and tube volume.
    Lifetime Guarentee
    Manufactured from Stainless Steel
Highly Polished Stainless Steel Tail Piece

    Just a few Q's
    1. Any views on this sytem?
    2. Sound?
    3. Fit?
    2. and this company?

Any recommendations on other exhaust systems?

I've had 3 Janspeed full systems (in manifold) in the past, the fit and quality had been superb. Sound has been subtle and rorty without being too loud.

As the company - they've probably been making performance zorsts for as long, if not longer than, anyone else.

...Centre Pipe up to the cat, usually they bin any silencers in between the back box and the cat too. And clamps and any exhaust rubbers you need to hang it.

Cat back will be everything from the cat backwards - ie centre pipe, and back box.
A full system includes 4-2-1- manifold, centre pie and back box (minewere from the pre-cat era)

Check with JS to see if what options you get with the back box (if any) - I'm looking at a Remus pipe at the mo and can have a centre box or not.

not sure if they include new rubbers and gaskets these days- they never used to.

Yeah, your keeping your cat, so it'll be fine, your only replacing the last section of exhaust after the cat. So it'll still be doing it's job and the emmisions will be still be legal. Provided your cats ok!
