Now the Girlfriend wants a Astra SXI ??? (3 door got to have the spoilers on )

1.. Have seen some info on the SRI ???

2... What is the difference between them ???

3...Can you tell me what is the better model to go for and why ???

    Thank you

    SRi 2.2! Mucho fun.

I think the sxi only went up to a 1.6 iirc and the sri's come in with 1.8, 2.0 and 2.2 (and sri turbo but hard to find!)

Sxi come in 1.6, 1.8 have -20mm lowered suspension, sports interior, 16 inch alloys,
Sri's come in 1.8, 2.0, 2.2 and sri turbo with above spec

I have a Sxi 1.6 which is 100bhp standard and only grp 5 insurance.
The 1.8 sxi and sri are just as fast but the sri is higher group insurance and has leccy mirrors, cruise control.

    Never seen a 2.2 sxi?

I am 27 and fiancee is 21. Insured us both on the car for £500 which is good I thought.

The 1.8's seem to bell under powered for what they are.

I never said there was a 2.2 sxi???

The 1.8 is a very good car i wish i had gone for it at only grp 7 insurance for the sxi.
The newer model 1.8's are also 125bhp as a pose to the older ones at 115bhp

the 2001 or later 1.8 sxi or sri's have the 125bhp engine (which is what im looking for) and the 2.0 have 136bhp? and are a few insurance groups higher which to me means an extra £300 on the insurance between the 1.8 and 2.0, and only 11bhp??

thats y im waiting for a decent post 2000 1.8,

They are not too bad on fuel. I am getting about 33mpg and I only seem to do short runs.

SXI's engine range includes a 2.0 Turbo too chaps
And the sxi's don't have a spoiler on as standard either.
