    Exhaust for a Mk3 1.4

    Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a decent backbox for my Mk3 1.4 Astra? I'd get a full cat-back system but lack of money prohibits this ;(. Not sure if just a backbox would increase performance/noise at all, but I'd be looking at performance over noise (although a little noise would be nice).

I've been looking at some backboxes on DemonTweeks for aorund £80...Peco 'Big-Bore' or something: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/catalo...ODE=PECBB4/208

Are these any good for the cheapness?

    Thanks and regards.

    Sportex are decent.
I am getting the twin 3" for my 1400 astra.

Cheap, but good quality and nice sound to them.
    Peco are crap.

I have a sportex 3" on my 1.4 mk3 and it gives a nice rumble, not too loud. (Shame my asthmatic engine ruins the exhaust noise)

How did yours fit on, did it go on easily.
I attempted to fit mine today, and its being sent back.
The inlet pipe is way too big for the astra exhaust system, it just slides on and slips straight off, pathetic.
I take back saying sportex are decent, i think the exhaust i received isn't even meant for a astra.
Its not even close to fitting.
My mk3,117K, and the engine is still going strong
shame about the car shell tho, lol.

Yeah, i have heard they are good fitting.
I have now found out my box is to a MK3 gsi as the inlet is 2", where it needs to be 1 3/4" for a 8v petrol car.
Hopefully when i ring them tomorrow they will send me the correct box out.

Yeah I am looking at purchasing from these soon so your experiences with them and the fitting/quality of the pipe would be useful to know thanks.

They are sending out a correct one tomorrow, and it will be delivered thursday and the incorrect one collected.
Hopefully everything will be fine then.
www.tuning.co.uk have a very good customer service, they are recommended.
I will give my verdict on Sportex on thrusday night.
