    Pinging speedo

This is a weird 1. Tonight when i was sitting at the traffic lights i revved the engine to about 3000rpm and the speedo pinged from 0-5mph then down again. Happened a couple of times now. Pings up n down about 2/3 times when sometimes idling. Any ideas?

It's gonna be something to do with gear box I would've thought, when you rev the internals spin faster and somethings probably catching in there. The speedo works off the gearbox.

9 times out of 10 when this happens its caused by tiny metal filings that ground off inside your gear box and they stick to the magnetic speedo sensor pickup beside your differential causing a false reading.. Nothing to worry about, just dont grind it if you cant find it..... :-)
