What Spark Plugs does everyone use/prefer

    Hi,

About to change the spark plugs and wondering which one would be best to fit to my X20XEV Astra SRi. Thought about Iridium but whats the pro's cons' of each spark plug...

So what ya got fitted and how do you feel it has effected the performance, acceleration and fuel economy.

    Any advice is appreciated....

NGK Iridium plugs work well on the turbo models and are cheaper than the Denso or Bosch that Regal and Courtenay sell.

Try www.sparkplugs.co.uk for suitable plugs for your car. If you're not sure, drop them an email, they are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Been reading up on these and see that they give better performance for turbo'd engines and require to be changed less often than the standard plugs.

Can see the benefits over standard plugs in that it require less voltage to spark etc, but just wondering what difference I would see with them fitted to the X20XEV, not really planning on increasing the power much if at all.

Been looking at the Denso Iridium IK20's as been told they are the ones for my engine. And they have the 0.4mm electrode size as opposed to the 0.6mm for the NKG Iridiums

    Any info appreciated...

NGKs as I was getting major hesitation upon harsh acceleration (was fine if a begged it a little bit!!!). Stuck in the NGK's set at exactly 1mm and boom... away we went. Smooth acceleration and much quicker response.

Incidentally, what gave VX the idea of putting these wee stumpy leads on a rack onto the 2.2 engine? Where's the LEADS gone!!! lol

    Cheers,
    J
