    Warning light on sisters astra

My sisters other half has given me a call they are in London and thier astra, a 1998 astra sport 1.8 16v is playing up. On start up the ABS and TC lights have come up on the dash and stay on whilst driving, yet the car drives fine and there doesnt seem to be any problems at all.

Without actually testing the ABS (might be fairly dangerous ) the brakes seem fine any ideas whats up with it?

    Cheers

had this on my GSI once, jet washed it and gave the area around the disks a good hose down and it was fine

sounds like the plug itself has been aggravated. quick wobble and it may cure it temporarily.

I had the same problem-tis quite odd. Tell her to put the key in the ignition turn it one or two turns so the lights come on then wait a couple of seconds for the TC and ABS lights to go out, then start the car-no more lights on
Any info on V6 MK4 conversions greatly appreciated!

Most likely as Autosparks said wheel hub sensors, come complete with wheel bearing, abs and traction control sensors.

My old Mk4 did this, all I did was turn the ignition off and start it again and it would go

I wud bet my b*llocks to a barn dance its just a case of waiting a few seconds for the self test on the ABS and TC to run. If you start the car up and it hasnt completed these checks its gna keep the warning lights on as a precaution because it doesnt know if theyre faulty or not.
