They're expensive at the mo because everyone seems to want the 150 PD TDi diesel. They don't seem to be depreciating much at all at the mo, even with the new 2.0L MK5 diesel thats now out.

Sometimes to get what you really want(and to get one in good condition) you have to pay more than you "think" its worth.

The 150 has the bigger turbo - so if your into modding then car be easily mapped - to near 200BHP and shed loads of torque. - if you have a 130 you'll have to have the bigger turbo fitted and then probably a custom map - from revotechnik, apr, AMD or qstuning - etc etc

A Skoda would be the obvious choice, a PD130 can be mapped to 185bhp/300lbft torque for about £400 so you have a very good allround well build car for not a huge amount...You can buy my Golf if you want!

The Fabia vRS is a good buy, buy used ones are just about non existant atm, factory orders for new ones with options backed up to the end of March now.

Octavia? 130 PD is a good motor for the coin, alot of spec.

Leon 150 Cupra is a stormer but like hens teeth, again very little used.

Is that a new shape one or an older one - the older ones only had 1.9 diesel engines - so i assume its a new one - sportback - if its 5door
