    Another mirror question

If I was to get electric mirrors, can you take the coloured piece off of the manual mirror unit and put it on the new mirror unit?

    Question

while on the mirror subject - i've just ordered a pair of leccy ones, a switch and chrome covers.
looking at the how to guides it says these just plug in to the connectors in the doors and all you have to do then is plug in a fuse and thats it - some people mention having to fit a relay as well -where does this plug in?

Robby, I fitted leccy mirrors at the weekend. popped in the fuse. plugged in the mirrors and that was it. No relay involved.

The only issue I've came across is that the mirrored glass doesn't go up and down the way I expected, only small amounts, but I think that might just be the way I fitted the glass, I'm going to have a look at it this weekend.

Took me an hour to strip old mirrors off and install full new mirrors, just follow the how to guide

Relay goes into the only slot left available to fit the relay. Relay is only necessary if fitting the Standard Vauxhalland or Irmscher ones, not necessay on Aftermarket ones except the Steinmetz ones. It is for the heating part of the mirrors.

    Robby, Fusebox under the dash.

Brett if you are at LMF on Sunday I could have a look for you. Could be a slightly different cover. I discovered that somewhere along the line Vaux changed the design of the cover (ever so slightly mind) so that if you put the new cover on the old base and vice versa it pops out after a while.
