    Installing electric mirrors- Query!!

I've followed the "how to" to install the electric mirrors (vauxhall) and it was great, everything installed ok. However, when I'm moving the mirrored glass around it doesn't move very much (any direction) and sometimes stops moving altogether. I copied the old manual mirrors for installing the glass and the wee ball popped when I pushed the glass in, I don't want to push it any further for fear of breaking the glass. but when I touch the mirrored glasss, it seems very loose

    Anyonge got any ideas???

    Be brutal !

I fitted electric mirror glasses to my Astra recently, and managed to break one of the mirror glasses removing it from an old mirror casing. Basically, you have to push the glass much harder than you would want to to get it to clip into the electric movement 'nipples'. Its fairly easy to get the centre bit to clip in, but you need to put force against the point where both the movement nipples clip in otherwise it won't be in properly. That would explain why they are not moving properly and are loose.

Yes, there is a danger of breaking the mirror glass (£40 from vauxhall BTW), but thats life!

For pushing the glass back onto the ball thingys,
use a flat surface on the mirror,
which will help apply even pressure to the glass.

That should reduce the risk of breaking.
