    v6 or red top ?

i'm thinking of replacing my c20 xe red top engine for the c25 xe v6 lump out of a cavalier to put in my mk3 astra gsi but unsure whether to go for it or not. they are both quik motors but will it be worth it in the end ? has anyone done this before as i don't want to go swapping engins about for no benefits.

C20XE - 150 standard, easy to get to 180 with no much cost, for big cash 230-250 can be had no prob's and still reliable.

C25XE - 176 standard, apart from zorst, air filter, fuel regulator thats about the limit on cheap mods, could find some 3.0 cams, that would probably push it to 200, after that it's all big money mods. Sounds great though.

you cant use the 3.2 engine as everything is wrong, ie mounts etc...

i would stick with 20xe, chuck some cash at it and make a flier of a car.

    Things to do:
    manifold
    cams
    verniers
    rods
    pistons
    bolts

change to coil pack as well if you have dizzy set up.

that just might sway it for me as it was the v6 route or throttle boddies and cams. its already got a chip , gas flowed head, 4 branch manifold, straight through exhaust and filter with a lightened flywheel. hopefully these should make a true flying machine.

yep serious about getting the most out of my car but wanted to go a different route than just dropping a turbo in as this has been done many times. I will have to get some pics of the motor for peeps to look at i'm sure you'l like it.
