    PDAs & GPS

Any one got a PDS with GPS for sat nav in thier car?

What do you recommend, Halfords have a kit for £300, but Scan.co.uk have a better spec PDA in a bundle for £340.

I guess it's as good as the software and GPS unit.

Mind it could be the end of getting lost between mine and the chippie

ive lived on my navigation since passing my test!
it used to be people and now its the navi
when i had my corsa... i used an ipaq 5550 with a navman jacket.... it was great
since i had it under a year, i got the new navman streetmap software which cost me 30 quid instead of 120 or something silly
id say it was the next best thing to what i have now which is an integrated dvd/navi system since i got my astra

as long as you dont have a slow ipaq, its great and like nighthawk said.... tomtom also works with it and you can overlays of speedcams

    OOOOhhh Scotty Boy

Just the software dude not the bluetooth edition or the hard wired edition just the s/ware yeah? Which PDA do you have? Palm or WinCE/Win mobile edition?

The Tom Tom S/ware run exactly the same as it does on the Tom Tom go but with the added benefit of Camera Overlays to tell you where those nasty little GATSO's are. Also you can go straight to your contacts list and tell it to navigate you there and it automatically loads the tom tom and puts your contacts address in there and sets it about finding a way.

i brought a Acer N35 the other day, pretty basic PDA tbh but does the job and with built in GPS rather than a seperate unit like most and cost £230 i think,

not a bad little gadget at all workd well, only thing is the destinator app doesnt seem as good as what ive read about tom tom but still does a good job,

    Exclamation Tom Tom's are changing

FYI everyone. TomTom Go's are no longer available from my supplier. They have however released 3 new stand alone TomTom's but I don't think your gonna like the prices...

    TomTom Go 300 about £390.00
    TomTom Go 500 about £500.00
    TomTom Go 700 about £585.00

I say about because I won't know the exact price till they land on british soil. They may go up they may go down. I have no confirmed release date at the mo.

PDA people TomTom is changing for you as well. Instead of Navigator 3 it will now be Navigator 5. The GPS recievers are getting smaller and more accurate. People who already own Navigator 3 should be recieving info on upgrading through the post direct from TomTom. More info on this go to the TOMTOM.com website.

    Astra's gotta love em.
