Police chauffeurs get months of defensive, pursuit and emergency driving training.
I'd rather one of those was coming up behind me at 100mph than some 17 year old prat in plastic covered wreck of a shopping car.
Some trained Police drivers do think that because they've had extra tuition they are 'above' other motorists and can therefore speed.
Hopefully Herts Police will throw the book at this driver and ban him for 21 days
Yep, I agree with that too. But the thing is, he wasn't exactly under attack was he? He just wanted to get home before his big pile of pies went cold.Originally Posted by stevenlcroucher

Pursuit or emergency driving techniques cannot be applied to 'normal' driving, as they drive under blues and twos when on a shout. To be doing 97 mph in an unmarked car for a trained driver is as bad as anyone else doing the same.
Plus hes a cheif constable so he hasnt been on the beat or in a car for years so any skills he may have had doesnt mean he still has them!
Car broken- A3 170 quattro s-line
"Chief Cunstable." - As empthasised by Richard Hammond on Top Gear last night.
On the M25 A few weeks ago I was following about 8 cars for comedy value as in-front of the 8 cars was the Guildford CCTV Police Unit, the thing is we were doing 105MPH and he didn’t have his flashing lights on or seem to give a care in the world!
He took the A3 turn off, I went onto the A3, but since I was the only car following him still I slowed down and watched him speed off into the distance!
