What a kick in the head.

Stopped at the wee garage beside the house on the way to work this morning to get a muffin and some butties for lunch.

Went in and there was a bloke pacing around the shop on his phone - the girl behind the counter said that he'd stopped to use the cash machine and someone had stolen his car. Turns out it was a brand new Astra, less than a week old.

Tip of the day: Don't leave your keys in the car, even if you're standing right beside it.

IT will be a real kick in the head when he talks to his insurance company and they refuse to pay out.....insurance comapnies wont pay out if you leave your car sitting running.....another lesson learnt there then......baffles me as to why people do this anyway....for all it takes to turn it of etc.

People never learn do they, despite how many times stupidity like this gets on the media. I bet the engine was running as well

He ain't gonna like what his insurance are gonna tell him either - you're not covered when you give your car away to a TWOCer

He was a young fellah too, probably no more than 20. The insurance will be pulling his pants down for some rear mounting when his policy is due for renewal.

hehe what a muppet. I always take out the keys and multilock mine than lock and deadlock, even when filling up for fuel. It's hard to comprehend people leaving keys in or even leaving it running! *scratches head* beats me!

Is that true your only covered if they break in & steal the car rather than the keys jus being in the car waiting.

Very True!! heard of it happenign a few times!

I always took the keys out the Ignition unless someone was in the car with me like someone i could trust (i.e girlfriend or mate put them together tho and you better keep an eye on them )

It's a hard lesson to learn but thousands of people learn it each year!
