General Wiring Question for any auto electricians

As i've already said in Non-Astra Car Chat i'm making my corsa into a Track car but to save weight i'm stripping everything!!

The question is tho can i get rid of Some of the Wiring loom i.e lights clocks heaters and crap and still run the car ok??

I know my engine loom seperates from the main loom! so would it just be a case of keeping the engine loom wires to the Ignition and losing the rest of the wires??

I did this to my mates race bike and all possible.

You have said in Non-Astra Chat that you are dropping a C20LET into it so would it not be better rip all the wiring out and start again.

Apart from that the wiring that goes in behind the glove box can be ripped out for starters

Well decision on a C20LET and C20XE hasnt been made yet but i want the LET for the power lol

We are ripping out the wiring altogether mate, but if we are gettin a full loom with the donor car i dont wanna be puttin that in i basically want just the basics in! all i will be needing instrumental wise is Speedo revlimiter fuel and temp to make sure everything is ok and running as it should be!

Heaters, radio, lights, the lot wont be needed as it's being trailored to and from events, and i wont be going down the qaurter mile in the dark

Not having delt with engine transplants at all but when you do one don'y you have the loom and ecu to wire in? In which case surly you could rip everything out and just wire that in with a flick switch ignition.

Something i'd love to get involved in and really enjoyed when I did it on the bike

slightly off-topic but nonetheless helpful (I think!) head over to www.corsacrazy.com and have a chat to Venomturbo, hes got a 280-odd bhp LETd corsa and a mean twin engined track day corsa project on the way aswell
Any info on V6 MK4 conversions greatly appreciated!
