    problem! bonnet catch caught!

well when i decided to lift the bonnet in anticipation of a long drive to kent, i didnt have a clue id end up bustin the catch!

when i dropped it, the catch didnt seem to go in right and is now obvious that insteat of sticking in the latch, it has probably missed and the release cable is sticking out of the bonnet like a sore thumb!

    what do i do?

try holding the bonnet release inside as far open as poss and try an get my dad to pull the release from outside, OR

    take it to VX (dreads)

Hey there, when i went to see my astra at the garage when i bought it, the latch was stuck too far in, the opposite of what problem you seem to be having. pulling the release did nothing as it was jammed as if the bonnet went down too fast. the garage didnt know what to do but if you look through the grill you can see the latch release. i got one of the workshops rather long big screwdriver and put it through the gap in the grill and puched the latch. perfect, it popped back into place. maybe this could work for you. you can go through the grill rather than giong up from underneath like the garage said!! haha, give it a try. hope you get it sorted
