    Alpine I-Personalise

    Alright lads

I've just purchased one of them new Alpine CD/MP3 Head Units as below

    http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/popup_image.php?pID=3209'

    and these speakers

    for the front : http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/prod...oducts_id=2742

    for the rear : http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/prod...roducts_id=756

I have a Kenwood Amp powering to Rockford Fosgate 12" subs in the rear

Now this I-personalise website seems like a brilliant tool - but I have no idea how best to setup crossover frequencies etc to get it all sounding as good as it could ! :?

Can anyone help at all ?

    Cheers

    Tay

    Thanks mate

Just one thing - the picture of your setup doesn't seem to be working - any chance of re-posting it so I've got somewhere to start from ?

    Cheers

A 9835......Nice I've got the one down from that, the 9833, they are the dogs daglies mate aren't they,

with regards to the crossover settings, obviously everyones ears and cars are different, but i filter my sub off at about 80Hz at a steep slope of 24Db / Octave, sometimes if you let em run up too high they become boomy and can colour midrange.

On the EQ, I think width means Q in parametric terms, but I can't remeber the relationship, a high Q normally means a steep slope but its normally better to keep the slopes shallow rather than steep.

If it doesn't sound good to you then ignore the above, personal taste mostly

Just a note - I play mainly hard house and tight punchy dance music. This means that often the bass beat is actually not very deep (in terms of Hz) - hence I allow the subs to play slightly higher frequencies. I know what u mean tho Legoman - sometimes it all gets a bit ott if there's a lot of low-mid tones going on.

And Tay - As legonman says, you can ignor my setup too - if it doesnt work for you! Everyones system is different, different car/music/taste/speakers/amps etc etc.

    Cheers lads,

any advise given is much appreciated - I can fit and wire up a system with me eyes closed but when it comes to setting them up I'm completely useless

I usually listen to RnB/Garage music, so I suppose I'll have to play around with the settings - but at least it should sound a lot better than leaving the settings standard and just turning up the bass/tweet like I usually do
