So what makes a 'super car'

Perhaps there are set certain criteria for a car to be classed as a 'super car', but if there are I don't know :?

Take a high end Marque such as Porsche or instance, I wouldn't consider a Boxter to be a super car, but a GT3 or and RS maybe, now they are pretty special.

Do you class it on speed?? price?? an Mitsi EVO MR FQ340 is not a super car, but with a 0-60 time of 4.4 secs and a very illegal top end its gonna keep up with some pretty special machinery, but 'only' costs £33K

So the nicer Porsches are up around the £100K mark and I would consider those super cars, I think, but for the same money you could be calmly cruising in a Merc SL55, not really a super car though

I would say its like a show car, in the fact that its all bases covered??

IE Mitsi EVO MR FQ340 very quick nice car but ungly as sin!!, also relertivly cheap!

Porsche Boxster nice looking car, from a car maker with a lot of history but not that fast.

So in my eyes it needs to have the following...

    History
    Motorsport Credentials Past and Present
Got to be unobtainable to 90% of people (cost)
Sleek beautifull design or purposefull design
Very quick so its got to be 180MPH+ (due to the glentlemans agreement between merc, BMW etc etc)
    Bespoke interior with uncommon materials
    Modern technologhy used in construction

Well thats how I see how supercars should be, now hyper cars are the above except for one thing.......they are the best in the world at all of the above and dont need the history or the motorsport credentials. IE Konisegg, edonis, zonda etc etc

So something that you see quite often these days, a 911 Turbo especially if you are round a city with a lot of rich people like London. Is that considered a supercar, I know I can't afford one, and they are about the £100K mark.

Its just the transition between sports car and supercar at that sort of level I think can be down to personal perception

supercar to me = 180mph + rear wheel drive, wide arse, less than 2" off the floor N/A

But then take that same car and add a supercharger you then get madness.
