    Best bargains you have had.....

What's the best bargain you've had. Pics and cost would be cool. Anyway, I'll go first (obviously) since I am the thread starter....

    *warning, could be boring thread*

Last month, due to being a student again and not being able to afford to run the Astra I decided to have a hunt around for another car as a runabout.

I came across this beast!! LOL A Cavalier Cesaro 1.8 In really nice condition. Only done 90k.

What did I pay for it I hear you ask??? £200!!!! Bargain!!

Taxed and tested also. Another thing, after I picked it up, drove back, looked down atthe clocks and realised it had a full tank of fuel also!! That's like about £50 worth in a Cavalier's 60 litre tank! Bargain #2

    Jesus! £200 smackers for that!

Without sounding sceptical, are you sure that it doesn't have some dodgy history?

If not then that is one quality bargain!

EDIT: I like the colour too! even if you only have it for 6 months you should be able to sell it for more than £200

It's HPi cleared and all the MOT's match up. Other than that I'm not fussed. It's legit and cheap! Sorted.

...infact, the glovebox is crammed with service history.

When i was 17 i bought a 1990 G reg Rover 214 GSi for £100 it was advertised on Ebay as having burnt valves and a leaky water pump me and a mate that i was working with went to have a look at it was just along the road from my house so we walked it, both of Us worked at a Rover Dealers and new what we were looking for, there was no smoke out the back so it wasnt a burnt valve and the "leaky water pump" turned out to be a pipe! so we haggled the guy to £80 got my mate to drive it to my house and set about changing the pipe got it into the work the next day Changed the timing belt and Water Pump (as a precaution) at a cost of £40 stuck for sale signs on it and Sold it for £600 with 4months tax and 10 months MOT

Oh and i split the Profit with my mate so we got £240 each! not bad for an old banger (as the previous owner called it)
