b&m instructions say nothing about having to do all that.....................seems a tad extreme LOL

Stubs, is that the shifter for a 1998-2001 mk4 astra? If so, do you have any pics of it fitted as I`m looking to buy one when the price is right. What`s the gear change like now?

    Cheers

    My car's a Sept 2000 X-reg Astra SXi 1.8 (125bhp) and it fits perfect.
    I'll take some photo's later..
The gearchange is very nice now! - Not as short as I expected, but it does make a difference! And it looks schweet!

The Z20LET has an F23 gearbox with a cable operated change, so the instruction that the COO has put up don't apply I'm afraid.

I have just fitted the EDS/Regal Shortshift kit to my car, which retains the original gearshift in the car and replaces the linkages at the gearbox. It definitely feels better, but it is a pig of a job to fit, as you need to get down the back of the gearbox, under brake cylinder to get the original selector out of the side of the gearbox.

I'm not sure if you have to do that with the B&M shift kit
