How do you remove the fuel filter?

As the title suggests, I'd like to know how to remove the fuel filter with out snapping the clips off! I've had a go with screwdrivers and all sorts, apparantly vauxhall use a special tool. I don't have this tool!

I can see what I have to do, but can't do it!

    Anyone got any suggestions?

Is this a MK3, if it is the fuel filter has the hoses clamped with jubilee clips, they are rusted solid on mine.
I think you are talking about them weird clip things, i couldn't get them off with pliers so i don't know.
My mk3,117K, and the engine is still going strong
