2.0 DTi, any known faults or Problems?

I am looking to buy either a Veccy 2.0 DTi or a Astra G 2.0 DTi & was wondering if there are any known faults etc etc. Also does the 2.0 DTi have a cambelt or chain?

    Cheers muchly

Its on a timing chain, older models suffer with faulty air mass meters, diesel leak off pipes and injection pumps.

By older models, would you include a 2000 W car in that?

Ive got a DTI mk4 as well as the Coupe, and it's just coming up to 100k. It's also an early one (97 S).

The only problem I've had was a goosed Air Mass Meter around 60k, apart from that it has been a very good and economical workhorse - wouldnt mind getting it re-mapped though

Yeah - sounds pretty good for a Diesel, although it'll handle like a boat!!
