Yes I think they are: SPECS ON VX WEBSITE

If u want to test, then best off try lockin the brakes, but dont do it on tarmac tho cos u'll **** ur tyres unnecissarily. Ideally on ice, or some wet grass in a flat field somewhere. (just dont get caught driving in the park!!)

yeah, that's not supposed to happen!! The point of ABS is that it pumps the brake for u, so that it skids a bit, rolls a bit, skids a bit, rolls etc.. Meant to let u steer while braking hard - due to the rolls.

so ur car has got it, but it obviously didnt work for u in that situation. u could try it out on grass, but might be as well to get it checked out at the dealers. somethings u can live without, but if ur brakes arnt right they need fixng asap.

i was only doing like 30mph, maybe i should try it at a faster speed to see if it's skiding a bit then rolling like you said.

i just heard it screatch when i hit the break and thought, hang on that's not supposed to happen in this car!

U should feel a judder, as the unit turns the brakes on and off many times per seccond.

The 1.6 16v SXi's does not come with ABS.

You can have it fitted as an extrawhen placing your order for your car.

To tell if your car has ABS, you will notice rear discs and five studs on the wheels.

Not neccesarily the late 03, 53, Astra G Actives were 1.6 8v with ABS, they have four stud wheels and rear drums.

Well I was just goin off the spec sheet from VX, linked to above. ABS is now standard on all models, even the LS. I would think that the SXi would defo have it.
