help required with irmscher back box

wonder if any of you technical gurus can help me. i bought a new irmscher split oval back box (all stainless) from a guy who works for vauxhalls near me. Fitting it was a piece of cake as you would come to expect from such a high quality irmscher part. the only thing is ive seemed to have 'lost' performance in the way that the car doesnt seem 'punchy' anymore. I bought a new exhaust gasket when I fitted the rear box and the joint isnt blowing??...any ideas

    its a 2.2 16v by the way

    responses would be greatly appreciated

    thanx guys

I've got the Irmshcer Rear Silencer on my coupe, although mine's a 1.8, the box fits both. I noticed the same loss of 'punchiness' at first too until after maybe 1000 miles when I think it bedded in...feels beautiful now, very responsive...and i get a deeper note when it's warm. I think it'll be ok, just let it bed in mate.

thanx for the reply irmscher coupe. i think i will stick with it a little longer and see how it goes, although i did contemplate taking it off and replacing it with a longlife item. what i may do is keep the irmy back box and have the rest of the system made up in stainless by longlife instead to make it breath a bit easier
