    Stupid Evo owner

Just had a call from my mate. He was filling his lorry up at tescos petrol station when he spots a woman in a 4 day old evo8 fq330 crying her heart out.
So he walks up to her and asks her whats the matter. to which she replied ' i have only had this car for 4 days and I just filled up with diesel and i dont know what to do. '
He told her not to start the engine and pushed it into a parking spot and told her to call the aa. He said it was completely top end with sat nav, leather seats the lot.
The woman who had the car was about 22/23 and told him it was a complete mistake becase her previous company car was a 206 hdi.

All I can say is some people dont deserve cars like that as there were already 2 mistakes.
1 She was only going to put in normal unleaded and not super.
2 She was buying from tesco and not shell or bp.

I told him she should have handed him the keys because i would have given it a better home.

ok yes it was a really dumb thing to do but it was an honest mistake. I know plenty of blokes with high power cars that have or near enough used diesel due to previous deisels or company deisels.

buying from tesco is just wrong and the unleaded bit was wrong too but the latter can be excused.

    Still tad harsh :P

I though there were different sized nozzles preventing you putting the wrong fuel in the hole?

My cousin has an FQ330 it is top end spec and he only uses Shell Optimax!!

I can understand this wifes predicament as her previous car was a diesel, it becomes a habit puttin a certain type of fuel in a car day in day out! and adjusting to a new car isnt easy!

I know all that, but perhaps its just me. The evo is my dream car if it was mine it would never even know what a tesco forecourt looked like. It's worrying that if you bought a used one that the previous owner treated it as a ' well it gets me from a to b' it could have anything wrong with it. Cars like that should only be owned by enthusiasts.

The EVO is a nice car and certainly a wicked drive, but it's still a 4 door saloon, so not what I would class as a dream car (under £30K they are affordable compared to a Ferrari etc).

Shame about filling up with the wrong fuel, happens to a lot of people all the time, as for supermarket fuel, it is surprising how many people who own 'performance' models put it in their cars. My workmate has a Lotus Elise and he uses Tesco petrol, even after he got a duff batch and had to spend £600 having the fuel pump and injectors replaced  (something about money looks after money and all that? )
