TOYO tyres question and I got beat by a Mk5 the other day...

I've got TOYO t1-S tyres on the car and they're now feeling pants in the wet. They're pretty worn and i've only done about 17000 miles in them

I've noticed TOYO now do the T1-R which is replacing the T1-S... does anyone know if it's a good tyre before I start enquiring on prices for a full set?

I got beat by a Mk5 SRI the other day. It said SRi on the side and I was with my gf whereas he was 40 odd with his wife and 2 kids in the car. Thanks to the above tyres I got really bad wheel spin and really wanted to wipe the smug look off his face lol.

I haven't read up on the Mk5 so was it a Turbo or standard engine he had? I felt like a right pillock ops:

It could have been a SRi Turbo mate (2 variations of this but both use the Z20LET - think it is 170 BHP or 200 BHP)

PS Get Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's for a good wet tyre

Wayne the Toyos are piss poor in the wet, you have done well to get 17000 out of them, I ate a set in 9000 miles

Agreed with the Eagle's ... far superior tyre

You got 17,000 miles out of T1S's  that was bit of a result then

a lot of people barely break double figures from them :? , I've got them again so i hope i get get similar miliage I didn't last time I run 'em

I enquired about the T1R's when I bought them but they didn't have them in stock yet so I left it, looks like they'll be replacing the T1S but I don't think anyones running them yet

Ok cheers for the info lads :P

Where's a good place for the Good years by the way? Last time I left them out because they were soooo expensive and at that time I heard loads of good reports on the TOYO's so went for the cheapy ones.

I have got Avon ZZ3's on the Zafira, never again. Will go for a decent tyre next time.

I have Bridgestone RE040's on the Vectra, although it has 232lb/ft of torque, I am up to 18,000 miles and still probably have a few 000 to go.

But they are starting to passed their best in the wet though. But I will have these again when they need changing.

How do people rate Yoko's :?:

Hmmm I like the idea of the goodyear's but not the price. The TOYO's were great in the wet when I first had them but now they're not much good at all so I guess it's just how they've worn.
