    ABS brakes

Just wondering if the 1.8 16v SXI has ABS brakes. I can see the ABS bit on my dash that should light up but it doesn't, even when i turn my ignition on. Shouldn't it light up for a few seconds then go out??

    Cheers

Yep it should light up for a few secs and then go out.

Best bet is to have a look under the bonnet for something like this...

If you have something similat to this, then you've got ABS (this is the pump unit).

This is not off an astra but it gives an idea of what you're loking for - should be near the battery area

Yes it should along with the traction control light

One way of telling is if you have 4 or 5 stud wheels although a very small number of 4 stud wheels have ABS
